Q: Am I going to be hungry?
A: It’s common to feel hungry during the first week of the 500 calorie phase. It’s because your stomach is not use to feeling empty. By the end of the first week, the HCG’s ability to control your hunger should be functioning.
Q. What do I do if I am still hungry after a week?
A. I recommend adding a good quality amino acid to your daily regimen such as our Amino Blend by Progressive Labs. We are also recommending a low-dose multi-vitamin/mineral supplement from Standard Process called Catalyn or All-in-One by Novus Optimum. It’s important to drink at least 2 liters of water a day as well as herbal teas such as Yerba Mate, which is good for appetite control.
Q. How do I take the HCG?
A. Our product is a liquid homeopathic HCG tincture, which will be taken under the tongue twice a day. You’ll use a .50 ml dose and hold it under your tongue for 30 seconds, then swallow.
Q. What do I do if I don’t lose weight for more than 3 days?
A. You will occasionally experience plateaus that last for a few days. You are allowed, after 4 days of no weight loss, to do an apple day. You will drink only enough liquid to quench thirst on this day and beginning at noon, you will eat up to 6 apples. This plan usually kick starts your weight loss again.
Q. Can I use Splenda or Sweet and Low?
A. No. The only sweetener allowed on the diet is Stevia. There are two forms of this completely natural, non-caloric sweetener. You can buy it in liquid form for drinks, which mixes really well, and for fruits, the powdered form is best. The best brands are Now and Sweetleaf. Sweetleaf carries about 12 tasty flavors of liquid stevia.
Q. Do I take my HCG while on my 2 Gorge days?
A. Yes, you must begin taking your first dose of HCG on the morning that you start your first load day. During these 2 days, your body will begin to re-establish the structural fat that you may have lost from years of dieting or illnesses.
Q. The book talks about injections. Will I be taking injections?
A. No. Our product is a liquid sublingual tincture.
Q. The book talks about skipping 1 day a week. Will I need to do that?
A. No, skipping a day has to do with delaying immunity to HCG. This oral homeopathic formula doesn’t appear to have that issue.
Q. Where do I get a sugar, starch list?
A. We provide a comprehensive list of foods containing starches and sugars that must be avoided during Phase 3 of the diet.
Q. What kind of make-up can I use?
A. The best kind to use is mineral make-up. There are many brands on the market, now, to fit almost any budget. What-ever you choose to use must be oil free.
Q. What kind of lotion or chap-stick can I use?
A. Lotions must be oil free. Neutrogena has some good ones to choose from. My favorite is their Oil Free Fresh Moisture. Dr. Simeons does allow lip stick on the diet, so I assume Chap Stick will be ok. If you use a lot of Chap Stick and find you aren’t losing weight, you may want to use less or none to see if that helps.
Q. Can I take my supplements while on diet?
A. Dr. Simeons says you shouldn’t. However, we feel that due to the lack of nutrients in the soil at this time, a good vitamin/mineral supplement is wise. We are recommending either Catalyn by Standard Process or All in One by Novus, which we sell in our office. You may also pick up a good one at most health food stores. Don’t rely on Walmart or your local grocery store to have a good quality supplement.
Q. Can I take my medication while on the diet?
A. If you are on a prescribed medication that you need to take, we recommend you continue them until you physician decides it’s safe to discontinue. If it’s a medication that you take by choice, you could try stopping it during the diet and see how that affects you. If the results are undesirable, I would resume the medication.
Q. What is the difference between homeopathic HCG and the real hormone?
A. Real HCG is an actual pregnancy hormone that normally requires a prescription to get, and is generally given by intramuscular injection. Our homeopathic HCG is a blueprint of the real HCG. When it goes into your blood stream, your body searches for amino acids, which are the building blocks of our hormones, and makes the HCG for you. From that point on it reacts the same as the real HCG.
Q. Do I have to refrigerate the homeopathic HCG?
A. The real HCG must be refrigerated to keep from breaking down. Even then, it has only a 15-30 day shelf life once mixed. However, the homeopathic HCG has nothing in it that will break down, so it does not need to be refrigerated and does not have a shelf life.
Q. Won’t I gain back weight on the break without the HCG?
A. No, it’s not necessary or desirable to take HCG when you’re on your break. You will need to be a little cautious what you eat, always being aware of how your diet is affecting your weight. If you follow all the rules, you should not have any trouble maintaining your weight. The hypothalamus is an amazing gland!
Q. What do I do if I gain over 2 lbs on my break?
A. You are allowed to gain or lose up to 2 lbs on the break. However, if you gain anything above that, even a few ounces, you need to do a steak day. On this day, you take plenty to drink all that day but eat no solid food until dinner that evening. For dinner you have a huge steak and either a raw tomato or an apple. You should lose back down to within your 2 lb allowed range.
